From December 1 to 4, 2025, Nantes hosted the 18th edition of the IEEE\/ACM UCC international conference, a must-attend event for experts in cloud and utility computing. The UCC 2025 conference,<\/strong> held at Halle 6 Ouest<\/strong> at the University of Nantes, brought together researchers and industry representatives to explore advances in cloud and edge computing and their applications. Among the key moments, Anne-C\u00e9cile Orgerie<\/strong> (CNRS\/IRISA), an expert in the carbon footprint of distributed systems, delivered a keynote on carbon accounting allocation models as part of the CARECloud<\/strong> project, supported by the PEPR Cloud<\/strong>. This national program, dedicated to innovation in sovereign and sustainable cloud technologies, thus takes the spotlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was co-led by major figures in the field: Daniel Balouek<\/strong>, conference organizer, and H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Coullon<\/strong>, program committee chair (both members of the TARANIS<\/strong> project). Their involvement reflects the dynamism of French research, particularly within the PEPR Cloud<\/strong>, which funds projects aimed at more efficient and environmentally responsible digital technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
