The 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗲, held on 4 December at the Inria Centre of the University of Grenoble Alpes, was an opportunity to promote synergies between PEPR members and academic and industrial players through a series of inspiring presentations. On this occasion, we were able to attend several presentations by major players in the French ecosystem, all united around the cloud. Adrien Laroche, National Coordinator of the Cloud Acceleration Strategy, opened the day by reminding us of the importance of academic and industrial collaboration in this field.
- Alexandru Dobrilla, Head of Research at Hivenet, and Olivier Beaumont, Research Director at Inria, discussed the technical challenges of harnessing the untapped resources of user terminals for storage, computing and AI.
- Sylva: the 100% open source (telco) cloud solution was presented by Nicolas Homo, Director of Strategy at Orange.
- Tsukasa Levy, Head of Collaborative Projects at Schneider Electric, spoke about the convergence of IT and OT services at edge level through the OTPaas project.
- Loïc Martinez Varizat, Head of Data & Managed Services, and David Argellies, CTO Office (Scaleway), presented the Hyperscaleway initiative, which aims to implement a public cloud for AI: powerful, scalable, independent, competitive, sustainable and secure.

- Damien Dumestier, systems architect at Thales Alenia Space, outlined the main implications of the European ASCEND (Advanced Space Cloud for European Net zero emission and Data sovereignty) study, which could help reduce the digital sector’s energy bill through the use of space data centres.
- Vivien Boucher, head of projects at Exaion, raised questions about the repackaging of high-performance computing infrastructure for cloud platforms using OpenStack technologies.
- French entrepreneur and co-CEO of Dawex, Laurent Lafaye, presented the benefits of data spaces as a vector of competitiveness for industrial players through concrete examples such as Data4Industry-X.
